The performance programs and structual characteristics of the engine used by foreign heavy helicopters in service were analyzed and compared, then the technical characteristics, design ideas and development strategies of high-power turboshaft engine used by heavy helicopter were summarized. Combined with the direction of the future development of foreign advanced turboshaft engine, the tendency of future development of high power turboshaft engine was analyzed and given.
